Title says it all pretty much.
It's pointless to file 2019 because as of 4/15/26, they will will be in compliance with 2020-2026… is this correct? I am reading yes but again, not as familiar with back taxes.
Appreciate the opinions.
I'm not as familiar with back taxes. W2 employee hasn't filed in 10 years. No taxes owed. They want to file the past 6 years for compliance. As of 4/15/26 it's pointless to file 2019, correct?

They absolutely CAN file. If they were owed a refund, they can’t claim it, though. Pointless to file 2019? I guess if they were owed a refund, they gain nothing by filing and they don’t really lose anything by not filing.
They absolutely should file 2022, specifically, ASAP though. The ability to claim a refund for 2022 permanently expires 3 years after the due date – so that’s 3 years after April 15, 2023, which is… 2 weeks from today.
