I am a US citizen with a spouse that is a NRA and we live separately. I live in the states in a community property state. Trying to file my taxes, Im met with community property/income stuff and form 8958. Its hard to find a straightforward answer on this, but some people/places online are saying I can possibly ignore it? Is that true, or do I need to fill it out?
