Okay so my husband and I file taxes together, and he works, I do not. I mentioned that it’s weird federal tax doesn’t usually get taken from his paycheck. I searched it up and apparently it’s due to a low income thing. We are in OHIO. My husband works at Sheetz if that’s any help? And it’s the night shift so a $1.50 more from the hours of 10PM-6AM. I noticed his year to tax on his paychecks he has had roughly $160 taken for federal. We do have his employers insurance which is about $225 a paycheck. So like $450 a month. After tax and insurance his take home is roughly $800-900 a paycheck depending on overtime. He gets paid biweekly. Is it true in Ohio if you don’t make a certain amount of income federal tax won’t be taken? Will we have to owe money??? We do get the regular tax taken out just not usually federal.
