In 2025, my husband and I started an ltd with our friend from England. This is a woodworking business that was involved in an attempt to get a UK visa that is in my opinion one of the worst decisions I’ve ever made in my life. The good news We are now back in the us and I have the best job I’ve ever had up to this point, but we still have to deal with the fact that the two of us collectively own 66% shares in a foreign corporation that is basically just one engraving laser collecting dust in a garage in southern England.

My husband has not pushed back on the idea of us pulling out of this company (thank god) and we have already filed the fbar (thank god) but that does not change the fact that it is now tax time and I have to somehow figure out how to get form 5471 filed accurately in time for the extended filing deadline of October 15th. Fortunately we have a generous family member who is doing well financially so we kind of can afford to throw money at this problem to make it go away. I’m looking for recommendations for CPAs who can help us file this terrible form in a timely manner. If you have experience with either h and r blocks expat tax services or Eugene Sherayzen Esq. and want to give a review of their services I would appreciate that as well, as these are the current options I am pursuing to get this done and dealt with.

    Form 5471: any cpa recommendations?
