The tax preparer only included my W-2 form from one of my employers. For some reason, she did not include any of the three 1099 forms in my gross income.

I moved abroad in July 2025, so my long time tax guy could not do my taxes (he doesn’t handle foreign income). I tried calling several other accountants and places but no one wanted to handle them. So I went to H&R Block since they said they handle foreign taxes.

It was 2am when I reviewed the files my preparer sent over. So I didn’t look carefully because I was exhausted, had just gotten back from a 36 hour international travel, and I was stressing that they were late (deadline was April 15th correct? Or do I get an automatic extension June 15th?).

She underreported my income by about $25,000…

I also thought it was strange she did not discuss submitting a form 4868 or Form 2350??? Don’t I still need to report the income I earned abroad from July2025-December 2025? I am also still living abroad and plan to be here the next 10 years.

I am just so stressed. While I share some of the responsibility for not reviewing it properly, I’m worried she’s going to try claiming another $500 from me for her to submit an amendment to fix the error she created. Or, I’m worried she’s just going to claim the money, ghost me, and not fix her mistake (I selected to pay my tax preparer with my refund).

Any advice is appreciated. For reference, I was living in Missouri before I moved abroad and that’s where I filed.

H&R Block unreported my income. I realized after we already filed. Am I screwed and how do I fix? HELP!!
