Payment was processed on the 15th, then returned?

i also asked this on r/IRS but basically i have a payment that "processed" on 04/15, but the same amount shows up on 04/16 in the "returned payments" section on the IRS website.

the reason for the returned payment is due to "no account/unable to find account." but im confused because the 04/15 payment is "processed"

i paid again just in case, but im not sure if there's a lag?? wondering if anyone has experienced this before
