CA state refund sent to wrong account?

CA State refund sent to closed account

Refund was issued April 6th. But I realized late that it was sent to a savings account that has been closed for a year (Wells Fargo).

So I’ve been waiting and waiting with hopes of a check coming in. The same thing happened with the federal refund/IRS, but they were able to change my bank info and deposit my refund with less issues surprisingly.

Wells Fargo says they returned the refund to the state April 15th. I call today, and the FTC says they still haven’t received it. I feel like im in limbo. Is it just a waiting game? What if the refund is lost?

Has anyone dealt with this before? And I SOL? 😞 im at my lowest point financially and i was really banking on that money to help out. Everyone is being difficult
