Hi, I'm an out-of-state student going to university in Pennsylvania . When I filed 2025 taxes earlier this year, I forgot about a part-time research job I did back in January/February of 2025, and only filed for my capital gains taxes and an online freelancing job. While looking into things, I then realized that PA taxes non-residents on the portion of their income they make in PA, even if it's online, so I'm fixing that too right now.
Turbo Tax isn't letting me e-file anything for some reason, so now I'm paper filing my Federal and CA amendments along with my PA states taxes for the first time. From my understanding, the filings should be like this:
Federal Amendment: 1040-X and W-2 (no check as I'm getting a refund)
CA Amendment: Amended 540, Schedule X, Schedule S, 1040, 1040-X, PA-40, and W-2 (I paid the amended amount on Web Pay already)
PA Filing: PA-40 V with check attached, PA-40, Schedule C, Form NRH, 1040, 1040-X, and W-2
PA doesn't tax capital gains for nonresidents, so the only documents I should be including are the Schedule C/NRH, along with the federal filings for context right? Am I understanding things correctly?
