Get mail forwarded to the new address. This way you do not miss a communication. If you are expecting a check refund, definitely update with the IRS.

You don’t have to update with IRS or FTB but it is recommended in case they send you a notice. Make sure you change all your accounts(bank and investment and w2s) to tie them to CA instead of your previous state to ease tax filings……welcome to paradise fam

I would file form 8822 with IRS. It’s a long way to next tax season. The IRS could audit or need to contact you. Yes you think everything is great, but can you know for sure?

See if California has a similar form or way to update your address.

Mail forwarding works, but for how long?
