My 2022 return triggered a CP2000 back in 2023.
I sent a dispute with a letter and evidence.
I guess it wasn’t enough because this year, they withheld my 2025 refund and also claim I owe a balance of nearly $3,000 on a CP22A.
I ended up amending my 2022 tax return with even more evidence and stronger evidence. Shipped it to Ogden via Certified Mail at USPS on April 13th but the tracker’s last update is April 16th arriving in Salt Lake City.
It’s now May 11, the supposed due date of that balance, and still no updates.
Spent 4 hours total on hold with the IRS today to be disconnected twice, and the rep at USPS wasn’t any help.
Any advice? Thanks in advance.
