I tried the irs calculator and it just doesn’t seem right and was confusing.

I just started two new jobs, and my spouse also has a job. No dependents.

-Job 1 (spouse) (highest): 12 months in 2026, $61,000 total

    -Job 2 (mine): 7.5 months in 2026, $30,000 total

    -Job 3 (mine): 9 months in 2026, $5,400 total

I’m currently trying to fill out the w4 for Job 2, but I don’t know what the others currently look like and assume I’ll have to update them as well.

I typically get a refund due to the small business expenses I had for the past few years, so I’m not sure what this years will look like without that but I’d prefer to get close to breaking even or have a small refund of $500 or less.

I also don’t understand if it’s best to mark some or all of the w4s as MFJ or not… I use to just mark 0 on the old w4s and get a large refund. Any advice would be appreciated on how to fill out these w4s!

Edit: I’ve tried multiple calculators now. The only one that was relatively less confusing said to fill out all the W4s as MFJ, and for Job 1 (highest), enter 4(b) $1,500, and 4(c) $50, and leave everything as $0 on the other two W4s…
