Is the IRS a mess these days? I was on hold for over an hour to help a client with a notice. I even received another notice in that hour, so I thought I could probably ask about this one too. Finally get through only to be told that the IRS systems are down and was told to call back later.

    Now I'm at my desk just thinking what happened to the IRS after the busy season. Did they finally quit?

      Called yesterday….. Kept reaching “this topic is no longer available…”.

      Gave up. God bless and good luck to all with tax issues.

      Staff from other departments were used to beef up phone coverage during the filing season. Now that the original deadline has passed, many of those are back in their own departments dealing with the backlog there.

      For one visible example, CAF processing time increased to 14+ business days in March and April, but has since fallen back to 8+ busines days the last I looked

      Just call Business Account Management. PPS line have less trained people & lazy anyway
