I was established as a S-Corp for one year in 2020. I did file that year with a CPA along with my individual personal income return. In 2021, I did request the S-Corp status to be closed. Since then I've been filing just my individual returns every year. Just a few days ago, I've received a letter from the State of California Franchise Tax Board with a formal legal demand that the business entity file all past due tax returns.
To my understanding the S-Corp was closed and I wasn't sent any notice to file a business return all these years.
How do I resolve this? Any help would be much appreciated.

Did you file a final 100S tax return with California? Was the corporation formally dissolved/terminated with Secretary of State?
