Alright, so the situation is I decided like a lazy ignoramus to file today on the last day through FreeTaxUSA & cannot complete the process w/o the AGI from my previous taxes. Last time, I had filed w/ an independent CPA (that I now cannot get in-touch with) and she didn't give me the filing records for 2024 or the PIN… and trying to obtain the transcript through the IRS seems impossible because I can't complete IDme w/o doing the video call that's not possible until they email me in like 6-7 days since I guess my Driver's License, SSN & that motion picture nonsense wasn't good enough.

😮‍💨 …I'm at a loss at what the heck I should do. Should I just wait & file late?

    1. I’d personally just file a paper return, but many people today would move heaven and earth to avoid that.

You can file an extension (probably even through FreeTaxUSA) which involves paying anything that you owe today, and then you have until October 15 to get this straightened out.

Since you’ve completed the federal return, are you claiming a refund, or do you owe a balance due?
