Hey guys,

So I recently got an offer for a tax preparer role at a mid-sized private accounting firm after my tax scanning role during busy season due to the high volume of new clients.

I don't know anything about taxes and haven't taken the class yet, so I'm wondering what I should know to do really well and impress my manager by already knowing how to prep taxes.

Please help, I'm so dumb and want to keep my good rep. Admin came easily to me, but I get tripped up on accounting principles.

    1. You’ll likely just be doing very basic 1040s, stay organized, learn the software, learn how to check your work (numbers you put in are the numbers that show up on the forms). You don’t need to be an accountant to do basic and even medium difficulty 1040s. It’s mainly organizational skills. Most other responses you are getting here are silly.
