Last year, my husband’s company shut down and no one in the company received their w-2s.
What are my best options for filing this year? I’ve read somewhere that we should call the IRS and file form 4852. He doesn’t have his last paystub and his paycheck was different each time because he worked around the clock as needed, so it’s hard to estimate how much he received per paycheck. How accurate does this need to be?
Not sure if this matters, but he picked up another job shortly after.

Have him check his Wage and Income Transcript for 2025: [https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript](https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript)
That transcript should give him enough information to file his federal tax return. If he lived/worked in a state with a state federal income tax, unfortunately the state withholdings won’t be present on that transcript.
