New York State tax return update

I filed 1/16. I was accepted 2/2. Non resident. After this long time I finally got an update:

We received your return and it requires further review. This may result in your New York State return taking longer to process than your federal return. No further information is available at this time. See Understanding your refund status on our website.

So with that being said I’ll probably not get interest if it takes long because they’re gonna say additional paperwork was needed. But this is frustrating because they’re gonna say could’ve sent me whatever’s needed months ago
