IRS Federal Return not processed?

I submitted my married filing jointly return through Free Tax USA which was accepted on 3/30/26 (according to freetaxusa). I'm owed a refund. The IRS website says my return has not been received/processed as of this morning 5/1/26. I cannot get through to a real person at the IRS (the call system continually hangs up on me even though I try calling for hours every day starting at 7AM). Is this normal or should I be worried that the IRS really did not receive my return? I don't want to pay any penalties because this is out of my control and I filed before the deadline
