My calendar year 2024 federal tax was filed late and it wasn’t processed for a refund by the IRS until March 2026 (this year). It had to be paper mailed. Well yesterday I tried to e-file the calendar year 2025 refund through Turbo-tax and it got rejected twice. I double checked the AGI and 5 digit pin. Could it be that I had paper mailed in the previous refund and it wasn’t processed by December 31, 2025? I have been ill so that’s why my refunds have been sent late- I know, I should probably ask for assistance.

Cannot seem to e-file. Could it be that I paper mailed last year’s return?

    1. If your 2024 return was not processed by the middle of November 2025 (I don’t know the exact date), when asked for your 2024 AGI, you must say “$0”.

Try it. Say $0 (zero) and let us know how it works.

Turbotax should give a broad, general reason for the rejection which would go a long way towards solving this mystery.
