I ran a small e-commerce business from Texas and honestly I think I made a mess of my bookkeeping last year.
Started out using Stripe + PayPal + Shopify and at first it felt manageable, but when tax season came around none of my numbers matched. My CPA asked for clean P&L statements and I realized I’d been mixing personal and business expenses for months.
Also found out Texas may not have state income tax, but apparently that didn’t mean you could ignore franchise tax filings or federal stuff.
At that point I was less worried about paying taxes and more worried I’d filed something wrong already. Has anyone else been through this with a growing online business?
Filed an extension because my ecommerce bookkeeping was more broken than I realized

I stopped trying to reconcile Stripe + PayPal myself a while ago.
Have a bookkeeping team handling it now because ecommerce accounting became a full-time job on its own. Rahafinancials has been managing ours and honestly the peace of mind alone was worth it.
