My total itemized deductions are close to the federal standard deduction, so I was planning on bunching deductions this year (paying 2027 property taxes in full December, 2026), and bunching other things as well.
Is this allowed in Minnesota? Initially when I looked this up it seems like it was definitely acceptable, now I'm wondering if the property tax statement that comes in Mid-Late November is actually an estimate and can't count as being paid this year if paid in advance.
Thanks for the help!!

If you get an actual property tax bill in November that is due early the next year, then you are fine to pay it when you get it and deduct it the year you pay it.
If the statement you receive in November is not a bill, and you receive the bill the next year, then you wouldn’t be able to pay early and deduct it.
Hope that helps, sorry I don’t know any Minnesota specific details.
I’m confused. The information I’m finding is that Minnesota property tax statements are mailed in March.
