  1. Avoided Epic Games and games hosted only on there/requiring it because I figured something like this would happen. Just didn't think it'd happen using…THIS. Please fail already.

  2. If all the middle class and poor folks avoid NFTs, we can all sit back and laugh as the rich trade these things back and forth in the vain hope of making money from it. As long as we never participate, they'll never make enough money to make it worth their while.

  3. What? Epic? Nooo those nice people who made a fortune chasing trends (abandoned a game they were already accepting pre-orders for to make a Battle Royale) and stealing other people's work (Apex Legends' team-based balancing and Among Us's entire gameplay including the map design that is integral to its success) are into NFTs? I can't believe this.

  4. If they're trying to sell me on owning "unique" assets in a video game, why dont they try selling me some I actually want to look at? I mean they dont even have a leg to stand on with this new BR. It looks just as skeezy as it is.

  5. The problem is that you don't actually "own" any part of the game, and in fact this is the whole reason NFTs are seen as a joke. Crypto bros just keep throwing around the term "ownership" but the fact is NFTs havent been used to give you meaningful ownership of anything so far.

Also let me just point out that in the first place you will never truly "own" an online game because the company that owns the rights to it can just kill off or abandon the servers for good and there's nothing you can do about it (until someone makes a fan server I guess). NFTs dont change that.

  6. I still dont understand what NFT's mean.
How is it different if I buy a hat skin on any other game that then I own that hat on my account, where would it being an NFT make it different?

  7. Well, I just got another reason not to buy games on Epic. Not that I was anyway but it just makes the timed exclusives that keep going over there just that little bit more annoying to wait on. It also makes me question the companies willing to work with them. This NFT craze can't die fast enough. Unfortunately, it's probably going to be a while yet.

  8. I will keep reiterating, if companies wanted the concept of nft to benefit the players, they would let players resell their keys for the Game.

  9. If u needed any more convincing that EGS is the evil counterpart to steam then look no further than one said no Crypto and the other said Crypto battle royal.

  10. Eh it's nice to be able to sell skins. It works for Rust on steam just fine. Making skins easily resellable means you can get some money back when you are done with it, or transfer to a friend vs the current industry where they just keep everything. I'm sure people wish they could sell their league of legends skins / fortnite skins / pubg etc. It's free money.
