  1. In the context of the problem and the response that it is a "small fraction" of the user base, we are talking about abiding by their own rules, not to mention the fucking FEDERAL LAW. Twitch, as usual, is just a damn frat house. Full of college grads in their late 30s and 40s still thinking like they're rock stars that can never be caught breaking laws and that they're above accountability.

That said, gambling streams really are incredibly bad streams to have. Specifically sponsored ones. Twitch is literally endorsing that shit though, so I doubt it'll matter. Realistically, if we want to watch a real player who is not sponsored and NOT using an unlocked/altered account by the company, where pretty much every single one of them will lose their financial means to live, then by all means let us do it. We love to watch people crash and burn. Sponsored fucks can go DIAF for all the bad they put upon people or, better yet, be found guilty of violating gambling laws of their country and have to basically go homeless or serve prison time. That'd be nice.

  2. So I enjoy crypto to some extent but blaming a streamer for someone's inability to use selfcontrol and going broke isn't cryptos problem, the problem is the accessibility, it's easy to cash in and so easy to spend. At the end of the day it falls on the end user, self control and content browsing habits

  3. Twitch does jack crap because this makes them money. "relatively small" when it's above the most popular game ever created, and the illegality is almost as obvious as the immortality.

  4. This is tricky. I don't know the rules about gambling streams or TV. But I feel it should be age restricted. A proper warning should also be visible like in cigarettes nowadays. The terms of the sponsorship should also be fully disclosed. Not saying that it should stop or anything. Just that if it's meant to influence others into the activity, the viewers should at least be at the right age and also warned at what they are getting into.

  5. Twitch: We allow NFTs, Crypto & Gambling for our Streamers!
Also Twitch: We got bad Guidelines & Policy.

    I always disliked/despise, Gambling
On your 2nd Point, Yes that's true to an extent.

    As 'Simon Sinek' puts it;
    If you don't understand, people
You don't understand Business or Companys

    Have a Guud day, JesseCox
PS: Gambling is ~ illegal in Some Countrys. But not.. in Every Nation.

  6. The fact that entertainers who primarily target children stream gambling is chilling. Anyone who has that position of power and uses it to try and get people hooked onto a lifetime habit that is inherently destructive is detestable. Your integrity shines bright and the Crenminute was fantastic.

  7. It’s still just gambling, isn’t it? Just like internet prostitution and begging (“influencers”) is the same as real life equivalents. That old saying about fools and their money something something?
Does bring back the question of “role models” leading young people astray. Still remember Charles Barkley rejecting the notion that he was a role model while reasonably asserting that he did not have a gambling problem cos he could afford to lose millions without affecting his lifestyle.

  8. I literally only take sponsor deals from companies and products I would use.

So for example I actually use Exitlag to play certain games that are region locked, like Lost Ark when it was in Korea, or swapping accounts to play with US players in other games from the UK. So naturally I took a sponsor for Exitlag.

The idea of taking a gambling sponsor makes my skin crawl. If your audience is young and impressionable you actually have such a huge responsibility to make sure these companies can't get to them imo.

  9. Typed out like three full paragraphs of opinions, and it all boiled down to, "Hey Jesse, You doing good. I like what you do and hope you keep doing it."

  10. I work in a casino and I see people losing their money live and in person. It's horrible, but people don't think of the consequences.

I was speaking to a customer who had just won 4500 on a poker machine. I told him congratulations. He said he put 5000 into it. I just shook my head and walked away.

  11. Good timing with this video. I took my niece and nephew to an arcade for the first time today. (They are 8 and 5). I gave them each $25 worth on their game cards and they immediately dove into a jurassic park themed on-rails shooter. The first game over screen (less than a minute in) she was very confused, then i explained she only got to play until she died once and then had to pay again, (including the concept that her card allowance was finite). Swipe… swipe… swipe… They wasted $40 worth of game credit in less than 15 minutes. It was an eye-opening experience for me. I understand the stories about kids racking up thousands of dollars from mobile games now.

  12. Jesse's empathy is the reason I think I like him so much. Yes he is funny and yes he makes great content, however the fact he has a soul makes me happy to be subscribed and why I always tell people he is great

  13. Banks also see $ signs. Infamously. In the end, they're the support pillar of kapitalism and commercialism. It's all about the money.

And gambling is older than money. And proven to be addictive. The government/law/ whatever the country has should always intervene and control it, to protect people and the ones around them from themselves.
