  1. Robbie’s libertarian talking points are so rancid and stale nowadays. No different from zombie Reaganism and whatever else bs conservacucks conjure to keep people trusting a system that hates them.

  2. Von der Leyen thinking she’s an economist and speaking in English to make matters worse yet again is about as far as I made it watching this video.

  3. The question is are all industries competitive industries? Oil, for example, is a limited resource found within an even more limited number of areas which is prohibitively expensive for nongovernmental or international corporate actors to invest in. In short, only monopolies can get into the oil market in the first place, so logically, they will have the power to price gauge and oil, being a necessity, isn't something consumers can protest consuming, thus, there is no countervailing force that can bring prices down when these companies decide to do this except economic crisis, deaths, industrial collapse and potentially civil unrest which puts far more lives at risk than free market policies benefit in this instance. Libertarianism has to speak up about the natural monopoly issue or else it's dead in the water.
Capitalism isn't a natural law of the universe and thus, there are things that do not fit within its scope. Bees can't individually sell their honey, squirrels share their acorns, humans collectively administer our lands utilized for production of basic necessities to our larger communities.

  4. Libertarians assume Markets can self regulate and deny the natural state is for competition to eat one another up and gouge prices over time as has happened demonstrably with virtually every market that exists over time. Eventually winners emerge as competition is defeated. plugs ears and lalalas The natural state early is competition, but over time the winners become few and ghoulish as they naturally will gauge prices. Look around the world, this isn’t a farmers market.

  5. Robbie is totally off here…our whole country is going to be run by monopolies soon so they can drain every last dime out of us so we cannot save anything and eventually own nothing and be at the mercy of the elites.

  6. So her argument is that in times of shortages like this we the people need to be controlled and reigned in by the governments and bureaucrats that caused the issues in the first place…I am afraid of people like that…

  7. Im more on Robbies side of the aisle, but Briana is probably one of the few people on the otherside I can listen to disagree and not be bothered too much. Man I wish Kim was still in this, same with Ryan.

  8. The more I learn about big business, the more I believe that capitalism is open warfare — not against each other, but against the public.

P.S. Could Robby please stop describing price gouging in terms of "need to" — as if it were all an unfortunate result of circumstances beyond anyone's control? They're not doing it because they "need to," they're doing it because they WANT to.

P.P.S. I understand that people of different political ideology will generally emphasize different things — progressives will emphasize the role that profit-seeking capitalist enterprises play in creating these problems, libertarians will emphasize the role an over-reaching and mismanaged government plays — and that's fine. But Robby seems unable to process the idea that capitalism ITSELF could be the cause of an issue in ANY significant way. It's to the point that he carries on as if price gouging must either be the government's fault or nobody's fault — it CAN'T be profit seeking enterprise. It's an ideological blind spot he either doesn't know or can't admit that he has.

  9. If while planting in my yard I find a lump of gold is it price gouging if I sell it for $1,000,000?
Also the market will not clear if they don't raise prices and much of those profits will be used to increase production.
Further Microsoft earned 40% profits for years but exon profit goes from 6% to 10% and people overreact.

  10. Leyen is a medical doctor so flattering the curve isn't an oddity for her. Btw. It shouldn't be necessary fighting on oil prices as every country should compete on green energy instead. Oil and gas are obsolete and should be regarded as such.

  11. 😯😯I believe focussing on All the debates among urselves about price cap, supply chain, policies, inflation, blames, factories shutdown etc not going to produce anything concrete .
But the act of getting enough Russia's oil n gas will solve most 😁.. so… Before.. more damages ..

  12. I side with Brie on this. Many companies see the opportunity to raise prices even when there isn't any reason for it. Call it what you will but I call it gouging. The MSN reports shortages and price in creases due to shortages, many business just jack up their prices 10%-20%-and more when there isn't any reason for it other than gain more profit while hiding under the guise of reported shortages.

  13. Cities and towns are taxed to maintain streets, water, sewer and garbage. Lots of cities and towns have not only mismanage those taxes but overall areas are run down. Not sure what the actual state is being held responsible for?

  14. I find it humorous that a progressive blames corporations for wanting a profit as the problem, when the root cause is some European countries went full on green energy. America needs to be paying attention to the all out push for Green-energy regardless of your party and the negative effects of the policy.
