RUSSIAN Revenue from Natural Gas has EVAPORATED due to the Economic Sanctions. Europe has successfully AVOIDED Shortages by using STORAGE, buying LNG from USA, Qatar and Nigeria and sourcing pipeline gas from Norway & Algeria. Russia is struggling to be able to replace the lost revenue as they do not have the Infrastructure to convert Natural Gas to LNG and it will take DECADES to negotiate and build new pipelines. In this video I look at the current situation for Russia & Europe and ask whether there is a risk that Europe could face Shortages in Winter 2023.

  1. Joe, to comprehend your important content I have to look away from the distracting visuals, or close my eyes. You have on-camera presence, and your being in front drives forward your points more directly.

But either way, it remains good analysis. 😁👍

  2. For sec it was thought with the high proces but now the bills are not expensive annymore we get even money back ! So the treath was a on longterm was bullshit ..

  3. I was listening to a Stanford University guest presenter online and he said that Russia was “gasifying” internally. Of course this mean they lose out on revenues abroad, but Russian citizens and industry was starting to utilize more of the gas instead of just flaring $10M/day.

  4. Germany built so much facilities for receiving LNG and is still building, that it could transfer also to other neighbor countrys – building speed was and is insane

  5. I miss seeing Your smiling face in the morning.
It would be nice if You introduced the show as We used to see, then break away to Your presentations and analysis.

  6. Few points to the video:

1.Russia as the only or major supplier to the countries in Europe was in control of the prices and used that power to influence political direction, plus lots of bribing through middle men companies created by affiliates from Russia, now they lost this
    2. Ukraine GTS already had capacity fully supply Europe but Russia wanted to punish Ukraine and at the same time to gain more influence on countries in Europe directly thus build pipe lines around Ukraine
    3. China is single user for the power of Siberia pipe line, so in this case China has full control of pricing, all prices in Russia for this contract is classified, Russians fully financed pipe line construction too, so China got cheap and at no cost gas supply, China is also building rapidly own gas fields so they have no interest to be depending on Russia above levels they have now
    4. Europe as a whole speeding up alternative power sources plus incentivize power consumption savings

As a conclusion world and Europe will benefit from this situation in long term and aggressive Russia will loose influence on separate countries and in general in the world

Glory to Ukraine 🇺🇦 Russia must be defeated!

  7. Joe, you are a smart man but when it comes to Russia you are 100% wrong about everything. You have it all backwards. The only possible reason I can think of for this is that you probably have a visceral hatred of Russia. Maybe this explains it. Joe, Russia is not the enemy. You are believing the lies and propaganda of the west. I am from the west. I’m Australian so I have no dog in this fight but even I can see through the propaganda. Please try and open your mind.

  8. Yes we fixed that too like duhhh da hee hee. Now end the war. They don't have me here as thier eyes and ears because of my looks, but because I am smart. What I see and experience they respond too, so I suggest I see and experience only the best and this is not it, try again.

  9. Using gas to generate electricity is absolute Bonkers-converting one form of energy to another is wasteful.
Margaret Thatcher started this with North sea gas sometime last century.
Completely unsustainable behaviour, the removal of which need to be part of the GREAT DIVERSITY REVOLUTION, in a utilitarian effort.

A temporal subsidy for all alternatives will reap benefits in decades to come.

STOP GENERATING ELECTRICITY FROM GAS-this is not a subject for 'market-economics'.-it is a security item, non co-operation with should require (re-) nationalisation if necessary.

  10. Some projects being worked on or being negotiated. Some go live in 2025. Trans Saharan pipeline: 4,128 km Nigeria-Niger-Algeria-Europe. China funded African Renaissance pipeline: 2,600 km Mozambique-South Africa. Trans-Mediterranean pipeline: 2,475 km from Algeria Tunisia to Sicily Italy. The East African Crude Oil Pipeline: 1,443 km Uganda to Tanzania port Tanga. Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano (AKK) pipeline: 614 km in Nigeria (China funded.

  11. Now that's strange because l just went on Rueters and the Ecconomist Web page and the both state both oil and gas(lots) are being pumped into Europe via the Ukrainien pipelines and Russia is paying Ukraine transit costs.

  12. I cut my consumption in half. It will be even less with solar panels on my roof. Cold winters are a thing of the past. After what they did to those Ukrainian soldiers I want those russian orcs living in the stone age.

  13. Thank you for your informative commentary. If I may presume to make a suggestion, I preferred your videos with you speaking in your funky art deco set over repetitive stock footage with models posing as office workers on floor 35. Perfectly understandable if you are using stock footage to lessen your production workload, but if you fear that watching you speak is taxing, it isn't. Either way, very interesting info.

  14. Compared to US and Europe, Russia still doing great.
European countries have increased buying from Russia again past months , you forget to mention it.
    Strange…

  15. Canada has rebate incentives to lower energy costs. Where I live it was on average -20C for 2 mths this winter, snowed lots and still snowing (unusual). Last year we had a new gas furnace and central air installed with new thermostat, it greatly reduced our consumption ($1,000 rebate on furnace). We put more insulation in the basement (further rebates), sealed old windows doors (can get rebates for new windows), added LED lights.and added insulated drapes. House is 75 years old, (still well insulated for its age,) we lowered our thermostat and stayed warm, our energy bills were significantly lower. I live close to a hydro dam and transformer, natural gas is in many rural interior and northern small communities and cities. (Water and hydro electricity is in abundance in my province). Rarely experience power outages besides I have a camper I could live in if power went out (propane heater and gas generator). Apartment dwellers would have issues in a power crisis!

Heat pumps don't work here (most areas) they freeze, solar is only efficient in the summer. All new builds have strict building codes for energy efficient (and fire codes). Most major cities have banned wood fireplaces, they also double to triple fire insurance premiums. Canada is 69% hydro electricity, 80% green… I believe Norway is high 90s Green energy. Europe did well this winter, also shows how one can conserve energy!

  16. By this fall Europe should be able to top off its storage again. With the French nuclear fleet continuing to return to full production and renewables should be able to supply a majority of the electricity demand this summer allowing the significant increase in putting NG into storage.

  17. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA the tiny little runt is getting what he deserves destroyed the Russian economy for decades to come there is no turning back now trillions and trillions of euro gone forever sadly Putin will be long dead when the true impact of his action truly hits the Russian people

  18. Hehehe Joe knows the Russia Russia Russia is his biggest lure for the salivaters. It's just business for the channel, so I can't knock it too hard. At least he's not a war vulture that has millions of views from just feb last year. Everyone has these wild predictions. Joe hasn't addressed the grey area where Europe is still buying Russian gas in the shadows. What happens if this summer is a heat wave and you need your air con on a lot?

  19. USA built gas over-capacities and Europe pays the bill. It's so easy as it is! Just play your game USA…we know and you destroy your own with those lies.. because we don't care in Europe…

  20. During El Niño winters, both pressure centres lose strength, and the jet stream brings wetter conditions to southern Europe. The largest effect is observed in northern Europe, however, where winters become drier and colder. A frosty 2023-24 winter season is likely if El Niño ramps up sufficiently by then.

  21. Joe, great update. Your information helps me to understand how sanctions evolve and how they will impact Russia and her economy and maybe help stop this incursion and maybe prevent others from "The Bear". Like others I miss seeing you, but understand your tactic and appreciate your willingness to try additional approaches. So, maybe you might find a way to introduce the information with you in the picture. It will make a lot of people and help separate you from other war economic impact presenters. Just a thought.

  22. Certainly, Putin's decision to invade Ukraine was not favorable to Russian Business and Economy. I wonder if Putin overestimated the energy dependency from Europe or just got blinded by his power hunger.
