  1. China actually doesn't plan. The only country who mainly uses the canal is the US. The more the canal , the more US benefits. Same as Canada oil sands ,it is only benefit to US as a monopolized buyer. So the US always quotes the price of oil from Canada , no different to it is printing dollar money at will.

    Nicaragua is north of Costa Rica. It does not border Panama as your map is labeled.

    Costa Rica is the northern neighbor of Panama.
