what a load of BS. Simply put, there is no possible peace agreement with Russia. Anyone who is a student of Russian history will know that it is as imperialist as a state can be. It believes in having a much larger empire. It is in its DNA.
The USA and the west did NOT agree to keeping NATO countries where they were in 1989. Sachs is absolutely wrong and he has no written evidence that there was any such agreement. It is absolutely within any country's rights to request entry to NATO and it is decided according to their entry rules.
Russia has broken every agreement that they have ever made and that is what we need to understand. Russia wants the land and just like, for the last 100+ years, Russia has always wanted to erase the Ukrainian identity. It will always be true. If Ukraine falls, the Baltics will fall after that and then Romania and so on. Study your history folks and listen to Putins words. He wants the USSR back and has said as much.
