The Suez Canal, An Artificial Waterway Situated In Egypt, Connecting The Mediterranean Sea To The Red Sea. The Suez Canal Runs Through The Isthmus Of Suez, A Narrow Strip Of Land Between Africa And The Sinai Peninsula. Opened In 1869, After 10 Years Of Construction, The Canal Separates The African Continent From Asia And Provides The Shortest Maritime Route Between Europe And Asia. The Canal Is Approximately 193.3 Kilometers Long And Allows Ships To Travel Between Europe And South Asia Without Navigating Around Africa, Thereby Reducing The Sea Voyage Distance Between Europe And India By About 7,000 Kilometres.

Suez Canal Is One Of The World’s Most Heavily Used Shipping Lanes, Carrying Over 12% Of World Trade By Volume. As Of 2022, Over 20,000 Ships, Or An Average Of 54. 7 Ships Passes Through Suez Canal Each Day Carrying Merchandise Worth Billions Of Dollars.
