The pipeline has been in the works for decades. There's a lot of involvement from different countries, even Russia. Over time the pipeline will be worth trillions! President Mohamed Bazoum's name is on the contract where Niger is concerned, which is why they want him back in office. No Bazoum, no agreement with Niger. France was probably in a controlling position and negotiated deals whereby France gets a chunk of any profits due Niger with Bazoum getting a nice slice of the pie, leaving the people of NIger with next to nothing. That's how it works isn't it???
