Inside the wild world of crypto casinos

Sky’s Sanya Burgess delves into the controversial world of crypto casinos – where beneath the neon lights and high stakes celebrations, lies a web of secrets.

Crypto casinos are similar to ‘normal’ online casinos, offering virtual versions of popular games like slot machines. The difference is they use digital currencies: Players convert pounds, euros and dollars into virtual cash such as bitcoin to gamble with.

Her investigation uncovers some troubling practices in this online community; such as how some influencers may be playing with ‘fake’ money provided by casino sponsors, while others could be breaking British law by promoting and showing how to access these sites, which are illegal in this country.

She speaks to streamer HasanAbi, who turned down a gambling contract, about this world – in which other streamers such as xQc and Trainwreck, have millions of followers who watch them gamble online.

  1. Cryptocurrency is the best way to make money easily. I started with $10,000 and my profit is $38,650 just in 2 weeks of my trading. Cryptocurrency is the best.

  2. Interesting that they didnt highlight any of the many uk streamers promoting crypto casinos, streaming from the uk, targeting at a uk audience, many with significant 6 digit followings.

However, props for raising it at all, but lets be honest they didnt bring this to the ukgc's attention. They knew and have done for years, but have done zero about it.

  3. There is not much new here, streamers have been using "funny money" on non crypto sites for a while and KICK is owned by Stake I think. People wouldn't be tempted by crypto casinos had the UKGC not introduced ridiculous measures to take the "intensity" out of gambling even though everyone is heavily scrutinised on their source of wealth nowadays. I'm sure most people would prefer to play at a UK site because of the associated cost of converting fiat to crypto. Feels like the UKGC are inadvertently pushing people down the crypto path to me

  4. what is completely left out here is the fact them talking about how people spend parents lige savings etc yes there would be a few cases like that.

BUT the real deal here with stake is that they put 10.00000 etc into the gamblers account and let them play it through with a huge audience behind them.

its NOT THEIR OWN MONEY its stakes money, but i dont know what these guys pay the streamers to play.

  5. Because the UKGC decided to ruin uk based online slot play, people have started to go into unregulated Crypto casinos.
It’s crazy that in the UK someone playing online slots can’t do 100 auto spins on 20p stake but is allowed to bet 5k every 20 seconds on roulette.
The UKGC have created a demand for Crypto casinos by not understanding that people like to play slots.
