Right before the recent roller coaster ride in the spot price of gold, I bought an ounce of gold from my local coin shop dealer, Tim and crossed a milestone in my gold stack. 70 ounces of physical gold! At the current spot price of 2,025 it’s over $143,000 (Not including any semi-numismatic premium). Am I done stacking gold? No! I need more gold (and of course, silver). It’s a hedge against what you and I know is coming. I don’t “invest” in gold and silver to build wealth…but to PRESERVE my current buying power. But I also speculate in a future precious metals MOONSHOT by leveraging a small amount in mining companies poised to make 10, 20, even 30x my investments. In this video I have the distinct pleasure of interviewing Canada’s most famous gold prospector–Shawn Ryan. He has an absolutely fascinating story! He was called the “Tin Shack Millionaire” in the 90s when he and his wife literally lived in a tin shack–no toilet, no running water, no phone, no power. Shawn prospected in the Yukon, sparked its 2nd gold rush, and won “prospector of the year” in 2011. Don’t know how much silver you have but with the see saw of value between gold and silver, a similar value in physical silver would be my ideal balance. I am heavy in silver so currently adding to gold.

Lithium won’t be in our batteries for long, better materials are coming. But the Salton Sea has a huge deposit.
I really like to stack the "old world European" coins like Francs, Ducats, Marks, and British coins. I think it's a great way to stack the smaller fractional pieces like .1107, .1867, .2304, and .2354 ounce pieces. The best part is the premiums are really low for these coins in the US. Most of them I bought for melt or melt plus $5-$10 per coin. That's an extremely low premium for bullion. The only issue is most Americans don't recognize them but any bullion dealer will buy them back so I'm not worried about it.

By pre 1933 common date $20 gold pieces Ms 62,63. These coins are real money and you can sell as many as you want and there's no reporting unlike gold bullion coins like Maple leafs and cougar ants to sell over 25 you have to report it.

Buy on the dips and don’t stop stacking recognizable bullion til you’ve got the security blanket your family needs. IMO, 70 isn’t enough. Set a ratio goal. Take care of your family and Tim. Repeat.

70 is a lot as you say. I stick with silver as you well know. Gold may be as it is, Hard to save for and hard to sell. So, my world stacks of silver and I am ok by that. I do have some gold I panned while living in the NWT. Just over 2 ounces panned off a sand bar on the Makenzie River. It was late in the day and needed to be back in camp shortly. On returning the next day the water had risen almost two feet. The Mackenzie is famous for doing that. I was never able to get back there for almost a year. LOL, Would have, could have, wanted to, well you know how it goes eh, LOLOL. Always a good post old friend. ONWARD EH !
I know the places he speaks of. I worked on the James bay dam systems in the late 70's. Black flies that can chew off a fellas arms. Huge mosquitos like bombers. Shawn is an educated explorer of all things within our good earth eh. I enjoyed the post eh bud.

As much as I love stacking I don’t think the dollar will EVER collapse. The powers that be won’t let it. The dollar is the standard for most civilized nations. Money is power, without money those in power won’t accomplish anything. I don’t think they’d relinquish that power because idk about you, but I’m not working for free.
I would do more gold maples eagles and Brittanias. Maybe some ancient Roman coins. For the cool factor

Go for 100 oz. Good job on 70 oz. Have you thought about getting any perthmint gold like the Lunar series, when they are first released the premium isnt too bad.
Maybe stack nickel. Does another metal jump 30%a day the past two years. It’s beyond the most volatile of the metals right now. A nickel is already worth more than two dimes. If nickel breaks 30$ a pound, then a 5c nickel will start being worth more than a quarter
You could do a Britannia Cannon or a Canadian Cannon.
Or better yet, a double eagle cannon!
Most sensible thing would probably be another Yankee Cannon.
Wow! That is an impressive stack. Have you thought about adding any of the gold Spanish coins. The toro bull and the stallion are the most beautiful gold coins I have ever seen. The premiums are high but mintage is very low.
Sounds to me like it’s time to just start having fun with your stack and start stacking cool stuff that you like
